Eye Central: Capitol Hill

Welcome to our Capitol Hill office. We are located at 635 Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. We are easy to find in a walkable neighborhood just blocks from Eastern Market. We are located ½ block west of the Eastern Market METRO stop.

Please use the Washington Metro website to plan your trip to visit our office using public transportation. Street parking is available in front of the office as well as access to a parking garage across the street at 630 Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Our location is in a historic storefront building that has won neighborhood design awards in the past.

Meet Our Staff

Reception

Wanda Snipes (right) will serve as your 1st point of contact for our office. She handles most of our office communications, from calls about your appointment  to letting you know your eyewear products have arrived. She will gladly check you in and direct you to the appropriate portion of our office for service.

Lens & Frame Experts

Clarence Melton (left) and Ron Benjamin (right) have decades of experience shared between the two of them in the optical industry. Clarence has served as optical shop manager/buyer in prior practices before joining Eye Central and has a great sense of style and inventory to suit the needs of our diverse Capitol Hill patient population. Ron Benjamin has many years of training as a master optician in fabricating lenses as well as previously owning his own optical shop. He is well versed in unique optical solutions for complex hobbies, sports and job demands.

Insurance Department

Pamela Samuels (left) is our “in-house” insurance specialist. She files all our routine vision insurance claims direct from our office. She also prepares the submissions of our medical claims to DOCTOR’S CHOICE, which is our outside billing company which files our “sick eye” claims. From time to time Pam will provide relief work at reception when needed.

Occasionally our office will enlist the help of local college students to help with clerical assignments in the office.
